South Calgary Garden
This garden is located adjacent to the north side of the Marda Loop Communities Association Centre building. It neighbours the children's playground, the summer volley ball courts and a small city sponsored orchard.
The garden includes 46 - four by eight foot garden beds. Water is provided via hand watering. The garden and green space are pesticide free. Please contact the Garden Liason for more information about this garden. Parking is available via the community centre parking lot and the garden is well lit at night. The surrounding park and adjacent hall are often occupied by other community users.
In 2007, founding members of Community Crop built 35 garden beds. Funding was provided via donations from the South Calgary Community Association and participating gardeners. In 2009 the garden was expanded to 46 plots as well as an adjacent orchard consisting of dwarf apple and pear trees.
